OUR STORY
The Story of JACK KOBB is a story of my grandfather (Pop) a Haitian immigrant who came to the United States (Brooklyn, NY) with my grandmother in search for a better life where they had three children: one daughter and two sons. This story is not unlike many immigrant origin stories who came to the United States in the height of the civil rights era where opportunities were scarce but hope was abundant. Times during the 70’s and 80’s were not to kind to Haitians however, my grandparents were educators in their homeland and instilled the lifelong pursuit of education, both academically and , in their children and their community. The time I spent with my grandfather who my dad called “Pop” was not long but was long lasting. The name “JACK KOBB” derives from my name “Jacob”, from which “Pop’ would prounce in his thick Haitian Creole accent “{ Jah-kōb}”. This company and its name is an homage to my grandparents.
